Fire & Smoke Damage Restoration
During times when the unforeseen occurs with fire or smoke damage we are here to help. Once the fire department has cleared the fire and property we can get a team of professionals in there to assess the damages and get to work on mitigating and remediating your property.
Know that with fire, smoke, and soot comes hazards everyone must be aware of. Toxic chemicals are contained within soot residue. This can continue to degrade your contents, building materials, and finishes. Water that was used in fire suppression systems will continue to soak into porous materials and will require mitigation.
What you should do.
1. Safety
Safety first! Only enter the property if the fire department has cleared it OK to enter. Once cleared and you have permission to enter you may want to gather important items that you need immediately. If the property has not been cleared that means the conditions have not been met and is deemed unsafe to enter. Please, do not enter the property.
2. Insurance
For both residential and commercial properties contact your insurance and/or mortgage companies or the property owner.
3. Utilities
You will want to contact your local police department and your utility providers to let them know if the property will be left vacant.
4. Restoration Professionals
Use a professional for the restoration and repairs. For your residential or commercial property you should not clean up or do the repairs yourself. The methods and procedures of these damages can be complicated. It is recommended that professionals do this for you to assist you and your claim properly. These professionals adhere to industry standards, code compliance, and guidelines while performing the work for you. Personal protective equipment will be used along with other protection measures to ensure this safety. Lastly, approved cleaning and deodorizing agents and methods will be used to get that odor under control prior to the rebuild.
